Man dies after being thrown from motorcycle in crash

A man died in Sydney’s west today after a motorcycle crash in a suburban street.

NSW Police confirmed in a statement that emergency services were called to Rickard Street in Auburn around 1.45pm after receiving reports a motorbike had lost control and crashed.

“A 30-year-old man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics, but died at the scene,” the statement said.

“Officers attached to Auburn Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident. A report will be prepared the Coroner.”

Aerial vision of the crash scene shows the man’s motorbike laying on its side on the footpath of the street next to a telegraph pole, surrounded by the splintered debris from the vehicle.

The man appears to have been thrown several metres off the bike in the accident.

Road closures are now in place for the area surrounding the crash scene and delays are expected.
