Around 75 residents evacuated after car park fire at Telopea apartment building, in Sydney's north-west

A six-storey apartment building in Sydney’s north-west has been evacuated after two cars caught fire in an underground car park.

Up to 75 people were ushered onto the street as smoke billowed from the car park and throughout the building in Sturt Street, Telopea.

Around 25 firefighters were called to scene at 4.50am and the fire has since been brought under control.

Two people were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.
