The army has been declared an organisation where violence against women isn't tolerated, officially gaining accreditation as a White Ribbon Australia Workplace.

Army chief Lieutenant General Angus Campbell says the army is committed to addressing attitudes and behaviours that allow violence against women to occur.

"Domestic and family violence is a matter of respect. Army's values of courage, initiative, respect and teamwork are required in the workplace or on the battlefield, just as much as they are required at home," he said in a statement.
