Anzac Day trading hours: What will and won't be open on Monday April 25

Anzac Day on 25 April is one of Australia's most important national occasions that commemorates military action made by Australian and New Zealand troops in the First World War.

To recognise this, many states and territories around the country run restricted trading hours to allow for business owners to pay their respects.

Here's a quick state-by-state guide of some of Australia's biggest retailers as to whether they will be open on Anzac Day, Monday April 25:

WOOLWORTHS

NSW & ACT – All stores open from 1pm

Victoria – All stores open from 1pm

Queensland – All stores closed except for Brisbane Airport

Western Australia – Most stores closed

South Australia – Rundle Mall and regional stores open while Millicent and Adelaide metropolitan stores will be closed

Northern Territory – All stores open

Tasmania – All stores open

A spokesperson said the guide above is only a general indicator and customers are encouraged to check their local store's opening hours via the Woolworths website.

COLES

NSW & ACT – All stores open from 1pm

Victoria – All stores open from 1pm

Queensland – All stores closed

Western Australia – All Perth Metro stores closed while regional stores are open at 12pm or 1pm

South Australia – All Adelaide Metro stores closed, while CBD stores are open 12pm to 5pm. All regional stores open from 12pm to 8pm

Northern Territory – All stores open at 12pm

Tasmania – All stores open at 12:30pm

ALDI

A spokesperson for Aldi encouraged shoppers to visit their website to find their local store's trading hours.

BUNNINGS

All Queensland Bunnings stores will be closed on Anzac Day.

A spokesperson for the retailer said "stores in all other states will be open for Anzac Day trading hours".

Bunnings customers are encouraged to check the retailer's website for their local store's opening hours.

KMART

NSW & ACT – All stores open from 1:30pm

Victoria – Most stores open from 1pm

Queensland – All stores closed

Western Australia – Most stores closed with some exceptions

South Australia – Most stores closed, with some exempt stores open from 1pm

Northern Territory – Stores open from 1pm

Tasmania – All stores open from 1pm

DAN MURPHY'S

Dan Murphy's stores will trade on Anzac Day from 1pm (or 1:15pm in New South Wales).

A spokesperson for the retailer said it will trade on restricted hours, with most stores closing at 6pm or 7pm.

It is recommended that customers visit the Dan Murphy's website for hours specific to their local store.
