Anzac biscuits can be commerical

You don't need permission to sell Anzac biscuits but Veterans Affairs Minister Michael Ronaldson warns it's the only exception.
He was speaking after supermarket giant Woolworths failed to seek permission to use the word and the minister was forced to personally intervene to end a campaign which exploited the Anzac centenary.
Because of Anzac biscuits' historic significance - they were first sent by wives to soldiers abroad during World War I before been commercially manufactured - the biscuits can carry the word Anzac without government approval, but anyone doing so needs to be careful how they are described.
