Anthony Albanese meets UK PM whirlwind diplomatic tour continues

Anthony Albanese has touched down in London ahead of his three-day visit to the United Kingdom, where he is set to meet with an array of foreign leaders.

After five nights in New York at the United Nations, Anthony Albanese met with United Kingdom PM Keir Starmer in London before heading to Liverpool to speak at a Labour Party conference.

He also has meetings lined up with the Spanish, Danish and Canadian Prime Ministers as he looks to secure defence and trade relations with the UK and Europe.

He also said on X he met former PM, Tony Blair.

He now runs the Tony Blair Institute for Global Ghange.

Australia usually looks to the US for security, however, under Donald Trump, that alliance is becoming less reliable.

AUKUS plays a big role in strengthening the UK's industrial base, so getting the United States to remain a part of the alliance is crucial to all parties.

The trip comes after Anthony Albanese's debut speech at the United Nations General Assembly, where he split from US President Donald Trump on key issues, including the recognition of Palestine.
