Another Katter seeking seat in parliament

Carl Katter, the gay half-brother of independent MP Bob Katter, has been selected as a Labor candidate for the 2016 federal election.

Mr Katter, a vocal gay rights advocate, is standing in the Melbourne seat of Higgins.

The 37-year-old, who joined the ALP in 2012, faces a tough fight against the Liberals' Kelly O'Dwyer who holds the seat with a 10 per cent margin.
