Andrew Hastie sworn in as Canning MP

Andrew Hastie has been sworn in as federal parliament's newest member.

The former SAS captain takes over as the MP for the West Australian seat of Canning, replacing the late Don Randall.

Mr Hastie was escorted to the House of Representatives table by fellow WA Liberals Christian Porter and Michael Keenan on Monday before taking an oath of allegiance to the Queen - required before he can officially start parliamentary work.
