Anchor saves weather presenter after wardrobe malfunction

A US newsreader had to rush over and cover his colleague after an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction live on air.

KTLA meteorologist Liberte Chan had just started her morning weather report on Sunday when her choice of dress colour threw the segment into chaos.

As a map of California came up her green dress acted as the "green wall" that graphics are displayed on, appearing to render parts of the weather presenter see-through.

"Oh, I’m going to have to change. Look at this," she said with Santa Monica's weather flashed over her torso.

"That’s a bummer. I thought it was light enough."

With Chan having given up, her news anchor colleague Chris Burrous raced over to her, taking off his jacket and putting it on her.

With vaudeville music being played in the studio, Chan owned her blunder and began dancing comically in the over-sized garment before giggling her way through the weather report.

"Who knew that sea foam green wouldn't work on the weather wall? Oops... good thing I brought another dress," Chan wrote on Twitter afterwards.
