Teenager charged over alleged baby abduction following amber alert

A 16-year-old South Australian boy has been charged with the alleged abduction of a baby girl from Moffat Beach on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, which prompted an amber alert yesterday.

The teen will be dealt with under the Youth Justices Act, police said.

The 10-month-old baby girl was reported missing early yesterday and was found in Toowoomba later in the day.

Police believed she was with a 16-year-old boy and possibly a 19-year-old man, both of whom were known to the child.
