ALP fear food lobbyists on regulator board

Federal Labor is concerned food industry lobbyists could infiltrate the board of the regulator.
The opposition is blocking legislation in parliament which, among other things, could allow for changes to the composition of the Food Standards Australia and New Zealand board.
That may lead to the regulator being "captive to those it regulates" if a block of food industry members are welcomed in, Labor frontbencher Stephen Jones told parliament on Wednesday.
