Motorcyclists on the run after hospitalising man in alleged road rage attack

A group of motorcycle riders are sought in Melbourne after an alleged road rage incident overnight.

Police said a man was travelling north on Sydney Road in Roxburgh Park in a black Volkswagen Golf sedan when a group of motorcyclists drove erratically in front of him about 10.30pm yesterday.

The motorist and the motorbike riders then had an altercation at the intersection of Somerton Road.

Police were told the riders attacked the 46-year-old Donnybrook man, who was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The riders are then alleged to have badly damaged the Golf, smashing the windows before fleeing the scene on their bikes towards Pascoe Vale Road.
