Alleged murderer at mental health facility

A man accused of murdering his mother while she was cooking him dinner is still "very ill" and needs more treatment at a mental health facility, a Perth court has heard.
Samuel Ashby was charged with murder after the body of his 68-year-old mother Deann Jean Ashby was found at her Mosman Park home earlier this month.
He appeared briefly in Perth Magistrates Court on Tuesday via video link from the maximum security Frankland Centre at Graylands Hospital.

His lawyer said Ashby had been assessed as being "very, very ill" and needed further treatment for another month.
The matter was remanded until July 8.
