Alleged drink driver charged after crashing car into Gold Coast swimming pool

An 18-year-old Gold Coast man has been charged after he allegedly crashed a car into a swimming pool while drink driving.
The car ploughed through a fence on Jacobs Wells Road in Pimpama and into the pool around 8.30pm yesterday.
Police allege the Ormeau man fled the scene on foot before being arrested nearby a short time later.

The man was given a roadside breath test and allegedly returned a reading of .096.
He has since been charged with one count of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, drink driving and failing to comply with duties of a driver involved in a crash.
No one was injured in the incident. The damage and structural integrity of the home will be assessed.
