Gold Coast man allegedly caught on video kicking dog to face court

A man charged with animal cruelty is set to appear in court after a video of him kicking a dog on the Gold Coast emerged on social media last month.

The man was filmed by a bystander kicking the canine as he and a woman with another dog got the animals down from a ute at Currumbin.

The video was posted on Facebook and received hundreds of thousands of views before it was taken down.

The dog was seized by the RSPCA and taken to its animal care centre at Wacol.

The man has been charged with one count of animal cruelty and will face Southport Magistrates today.
