An alleged bikini bandit has been exposed, after CCTV of her alleged crime spree in a Darwin surf shop went viral.

In a video uploaded to Beach Bums’ Facebook page, a woman in a black singlet can be seen browsing the Fannie Bay shop’s swimwear racks, before allegedly stealing stock.

Cut footage shows her looking at bikinis while sipping a drink, and moving one bikini to different racks around the shop.

Eventually, she unclips the bikini from its hanger, bunches it up and blatantly stuffs it in her bag.

The video has gone viral, with 51,000 views and 2,000 shares since it was posted three days ago.

Beach Bums’ owner hopes to warn other business owners about the thief, according to the video caption.

“To the lovely lady in the black singlet who thought she could steal from us and get away with it over the weekend, we hope you enjoy this video,” it reads.

“Please like and share this post so our local business owners can keep an eye out for her.”

In a Facebook update at noon today, the shop advised the thief had not been caught.
