Two innocent victims of one woman's violent rampage have told of the moments they were set upon at random in Adelaide's North Eastern suburbs, and have praised passersby who ran to help them and held their attacker down until police arrived.

Caelan Burnett was one of four people attacked outside the Gilles Plains shopping centre.

"I noticed she was getting closer to me so I tried to pull my head up and next thing I noticed she's got her fists in my face and then she's got me by the back of the hair," he said.
