Eight alcohol brands recalled after possible chemical contamination
Eight different brands of alcohol have been recalled for multiple states across Australia due to a potential chemical contamination.
Food service wholesaler G J Wholesale recalled the brands yesterday from retail liquor stores in New South Wales, Queensland and the ACT.
The affected brands are 700ml bottles of Verushka Vodka, Mississippi Bourbon, Los Cabos Tequila, Yachtsman White Rum, Mudgee Rum, Barman’s Choice Whiskey, Hunter Brandy and Her Choice Gin.
The NSW Food Authority has also advised that the possible chemical contamination may cause injury to customers who consume the products.
“Consumers should not consume these products and should return them to the place of purchase for a full refund,” the Authority said in a statement.
“If you are concerned about your health you should seek medical advice.”
Customers have also been urged to contact G J Wholesale for information about the recall.
