Human remains found at former home of Perth murder victim

Human remains thought to belong to a Perth woman who was murdered by her son have been found at her former home.

Ah Bee Mack, 56, was last seen alive in September 2008 at her family’s home in Mount Hawthorn.

She was only reported missing two years later, and in 2013 her son, Brett Donald Mack, was jailed for life for murdering his mother.

Ms Mack’s body has never been found.

Late this afternoon, contractors installing a swimming pool at the Mount Hawthorn property found skeletal remains and police moved in.

“The skeletal remains have now just today been uncovered, pathologists and forensic are at that scene," Police Commissioner Chris Dawson said.

"I think it's now a situation where we believe those skeletal remains may be connected to the disappearance of Miss Ah Bee Mack.

"Her son remains in custody, he got 20 years imprisonment for a murder conviction but we've never recovered her body.

"We'll be seeking to establish the identity of the skeletal remains but they are believed to be the person I just referred to."
