Young child in serious condition in Adelaide hospital after near drowning

A young child is in an Adelaide hospital in a serious condition after an incident at a backyard pool this morning.

Paramedics and police officers were called to the home on Glenloth Drive in Happy Valley about 7am after reports of a drowning.

The child was rushed to the Flinders Medical Centre in a serious condition, before being transferred to the Women's and Children's Hospital.

Police have confirmed to 9News that they attended the home but are not conducting any further investigations into the incident at this stage.
