SA POLICE STATEMENT

All SAPOL speed cameras are operated in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions, legislation and Australian standards. 

A strict adjudication and testing regime is in place to ensure that a camera expiation notice is not issued if there is a camera fault. 

All cameras are checked daily and there is a fortnightly review of the operational status of each camera in service.

Mobile cameras are also tested at the commencement of every deployment and fixed cameras are also tested by a run-through every 28 days.

No case has come to light in South Australia where a person has successfully challenged a speed camera by using GPS data.
