Most crashes occur between 1pm and 4:30pm, while Fridays stand out as the most dangerous day for collisions.

While rear-end collisions are the most common type of accident nationwide, South Australia stands out as having the most drivers crashing into stationary objects such as stobie poles and buildings.

But Adelaide is among the few cities where younger drivers appear to be safer, with those aged over 65 more likely to be involved in crashes.
