Tradie's stolen van located after Adelaide Cash Converters ram raid

A stolen van that was used to ram raid a Cash Converters in Adelaide's northern suburbs has been located by police.

Officers arrived at the North East Road store just before 3am to find the front door completely smashed and a number of items missing.

CCTV shows the stolen Ford Transit back up in the store at full speed before the occupants enter the store and then flee with stolen goods.

Police located the van at Fullerton Road, near Stow Court, around 9am.

The owner, 23-year-old apprentice tradie Lorrie Johns, told 9News the van was stolen from his worksite in Brompton on Thursday afternoon.

"Van gone, all my tools are gone - just boof, gone," he said.

Johns and his workmates quickly gave chase, but the thieves fled while also disposing of his electronic tracking device.

"Literally GTA-type stuff, that's the kinda thing you'd see in a movie," he said.

"Who the hell steals a van and then goes and smashes into a shop and then steals all the stuff that's in there? That's pretty hardcore."

Johns estimates the van and the work tools inside were worth about $100,000.

He said it would take months for him to be able to replace them.

"I literally can't do any work, it's my livelihood," he said.

The van was towed for forensic examination.
