Man and woman arrested after police pursuit in Adelaide

A man and a woman have been charged in Adelaide following a dramatic police helicopter pursuit yesterday.

Just before 10.30pm on Saturday December 22, South Australian police spotted a stolen red Ford sedan at O’Sullivan Beach Road in Lonsdale.

When approached by police, the car sped off and a pursuit by police helicopter PolAir was initiated.

Assisted by PolAir, officers laid spikes out and the Ford’s tyres were punctured near Westfield Marion.

The two occupants then abandoned the car and ran off, but were arrested by officers a short time later.

The 23-year-old male driver of the car was charged with a number of offences including engaging police in a pursuit, and was denied bail.

His passenger, a 22-year-old woman, was charged with illegal use and was bailed to appear in Adelaide Magistrates court on February 1.
