Adelaide Fringe Festival returns with surging ticket sales
Adelaide's Fringe Festival is officially getting underway tonight, and despite cost-of-living challenges, festival organisers say ticket sales so far have already surpassed last year's figures.
The Fringe will have more than 1400 shows and an eclectic mix of genres to choose from.
The number of venues has also been expanded, bringing the total to 573.

"We love seeing the growth of the Fringe in the suburbs and the regions just so everyone knows Fringe is in their neighbourhood," festival director Heather Croall said.
Some 370,000 tickets have already been sold – a 15 per cent spike from the same time last year.
"Not only have we got the cultural benefits but the economic benefits. It brings about $150 million into the state," South Australian Arts Minister Andrea Michaels said.
