Adelaide Crows player Tom Lynch discovers neck fracture four days after match

Adelaide footballer Tom Lynch has a small neck fracture detected four days after he was injured in the AFL game against Brisbane.

The Crows issued a statement late Friday night saying the "small fracture" was detected by an MRI scan on Thursday after Lynch had complained of soreness and pain in his arm.

Lynch was taken from the ground on a stretcher after colliding front-on with a Lions opponent in Brisbane last Sunday.

He was immediately taken to hospital where initial x-rays cleared him of any serious injury.

The forward also underwent a CT scan in Adelaide on Monday and, again, no fracture was detected.

A specialist on Friday night decided Lynch should wear a neck brace, as a precaution, for an unspecified time.

"The club wishes to re-iterate the brace is only a precaution to ensure no further damage. Lynch is expected to make a full recovery," the statement said.
