Young family terrorised in Adelaide drive-by shooting

A young family has been caught up in a terrifying drive-by shooting in Adelaide's north.

It is believed more than a dozen bullets were fired at the home on Stuckey Way at Blakeview, just after 11.30pm yesterday.

Police say a 23-year-old man and his three-year-old daughter were asleep inside the house at the time but both escaped injury.

Some of the bullets pierced a window into a bedroom, while a Holden ute in the driveway was also struck.

Officers spent several hours examining the scene, with numerous bullet casings scattered over the street.

The vehicle that was hit has been seized for forensic examination.

Detectives from the Crime Gangs Task Force are now investigating the shooting and say they don't believe it was a random attack.

Police say a dark-coloured Holden Commodore was seen leaving the area just after the incident.
