Adelaide airport evacuated as terminal searched

Adelaide airport was evacuated this afternoon after a security issue saw unscreened customers pass into the terminal.

The airport said in a statement there was a fault with security screening shortly after 2pm ACDT.

A "small number" of people moved into the concourse without being properly screened.

Every customer in the airport was moved back out of the concourse so authorities could carry out a sweep for any dangerous devices.

Customers are all currently being re-screened and let back into the terminal.

The airport said flight delays were anticipated and urged passengers to check in with their airlines for updates.
