Union seeks out PM on public service pay

The public sector union has written to Malcolm Turnbull seeking a meeting to resolve pay disputes some of which stretch back almost three years.

Despite over two years of talks, about 75 per cent of people working for the commonwealth still do not have new agreements in place.

CPSU national secretary Nadine Flood said with the election out of the way it was time for the prime minister to break the impasse.

"Over 100,000 workers and their families expect the Turnbull government to fix their mess," Ms Flood said in a statement on Friday.

"New agreements can be concluded relatively quickly if the government abandons its attack on workplace rights and conditions, particularly family-friendly clauses, and makes a decent wage offer that recognises these people have gone three years without a pay rise."
