Canberra crooks nick mobility scooter

Callous crooks have stolen an elderly widow's jewellery and mobility scooter.

ACT police say the 87-year-old woman, whose husband of 64 years died just three weeks ago, wasn't at home when burglars broke into her residence in the southern Canberra suburb of Waramanga.

"To prey on the fragility of a senior citizen is one of the most cowardly acts imaginable" Sergeant Chris Meagher said.
