ACT assembly has majority of women

The ACT now has a strong majority of women in its parliament after Candice Burch was chosen to replace Liberal MLA Steve Doszpot, who died last month.
Ms Burch will be formally sworn in as a member of the Legislative Assembly on Wednesday after she was elected in a countback on Monday.
Her election brings the ranks of women MLAs to 14 out of the 25 members of the ACT's parliament.
