AC/DC bassist Cliff Williams has announced his retirement from the iconic Aussie rock band.

“It’s time for me to step out… I’m just ready to get off the road,” Williams said.

The bassist said he is looking forward to enjoying “chilling out” with his family.

“I couldn’t have asked for anything more… playing this music with this band,” he added.

Earlier this year lead singer Brian Johnson left the band over concerns for his hearing.

Drummer Phil Rudd and guitarist Malcolm Young left AC/DC in 2014.

The band recently concluded their two year Rock or Bust world tour in Philadelphia, after performing to more than two million people.
