Accused IS nurse charged in Melbourne

Melbourne nurse Adam Brookman has been charged with terrorism-related offences after returning home from Syria where he allegedly worked with Islamic State militants.

Brookman, 39, flew into Sydney under police escort on Friday night and was extradited to Melbourne on Saturday.

The Australian Federal Police will allege that Brookman willingly provided support to Islamic State while he was in Syria.

The father-of-five turned himself in to Turkish authorities last week.
