A key business group is now more confident parliament will repeal the carbon and the mining taxes following the Senate election re-run in Western Australia.

As counting from Saturday's poll continues, the Liberals have two seats while Labor, the Australian Greens and the Palmer United Party have one each.

The sixth and final seat is likely to be won by either the Liberals or Labor.

The Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry says with Clive Palmer's party securing another Senate seat it was more likely repeal legislation will clear parliament.

"He understands the needs of the business community being a high-profile entrepreneur himself," acting chief economist Burchell Wilson told reporters in Canberra on Monday.

New senators take their seats from July 1.
