ACCC recalls All 4 Bubs Lunar Oval cots

A dangerous cot that could entrap or choke infants is being recalled by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission.

The All 4 Bubs Lunar Oval cot model (RRP $449) is being recalled after the ACCC found the product failed to comply with mandatory safety standards, posing numerous risks to infants.

It published a recall notice on its website yesterday after consumer watchdog Choice said the Lunar Oval was "one of the worst cots" it had ever seen.

"We strongly urge any consumer who has purchased this cot to stop using it immediately and seek a refund," Choice spokesman Tom Godfrey said.

A Choice test of the All 4 Bubs Lunar cot found filler bars could be pulled from their sockets or detached under pressure, while rubber pieces small enough to cause a choking hazard were found.

There is also a head and neck entrapment hazard.

The cots were sold in January in Victoria and online.
