INCREASED ABUSE COMPENSATION UNDER CATHOLIC CHURCH'S MELBOURNE RESPONSE

Compensation cap doubled to $150,000

Effective January 1, 2017

Cap set at $50,000 in 1996; $55,000 in 2000; $75,000 in 2008

Maximum payment also $150,000 under Commonwealth redress scheme, to be set up by 2018

Reviews where survivors have already received payments, to determine if eligible for additional compensation
