ABC staff reassured of independence

ABC staff have been reassured they can do their job without interference and the national broadcaster's independence can never be compromised.
Acting managing director David Anderson, who replaced the sacked Michelle Guthrie, said in a message to all ABC staff the broadcaster had been through some "very difficult days".
But processes and policies were in place to guarantee the ABC's independence and impartiality.

"Our staff should feel confident they can do their job without interference and Australians can continue to trust their national broadcaster as they always have," Mr Anderson wrote.
