Ezard has become a stranger in his own kitchen, last year losing his most valuable instruments - his taste and smell.

"I've contracted MSA (multiple system atrophy), which is a brain disease, and I don't cook anymore," Ezard said.

His wife, Tina, is now his caregiver.

"What we do know as part of this disease is that he will eventually lose his voice, he won't be able to eat, he won't be able to walk," she said.
