When Taylor Paige answered her mobile, the last thing she expected was to hear an impression of the Star Wars character Chewbacca down the line.

And so it began: Paige started receiving call after call from people mimicking the famous Wookiee.

Bemused and annoyed, one caller was kind enough to let Paige in on the plot.

The caller said he saw a poster in the street encouraging people to call her number and give their best Chewbacca impersonation for a chance to win $100.

Paige does not judge Wookiee calls; in fact, she's not even a Star Wars fan.

"I'm not too sure, I honestly couldn't tell you," Paige responded when she was asked by A Current Affair's Steve Marshall who might be responsible for the posters.

The single mum of one said she was also unaware that a woman from Cairns was subjected to something similar in 2020.

That woman's former partner was responsible for the prank, which went viral.

"That sounds exactly what has happened to me, minus knowing who it is," Paige said.

The Western Sydney woman made this plea to A Current Affair viewers if they saw the posters around.

"If you see it just take it down, don't call the number, it's harassment and I don't want a bar of it," she said.

"I just prefer the person to just come forward."

May the force be with Paige.
