Aussie mum claims she makes $150k a year through side hustles
An Aussie mum says after taking up side hustles through Airtasker to try and keep up with the rising cost of living, she began earning $150,000 a year - and she says others can too.
Sydney woman Nikki Facchin, 53, said she had $46 a week left in her pocket after bills.
"I literally sat at home and said, 'what can I do?'" Facchin told A Current Affair.

So Facchin went to work on her own cost of living crisis.
"I don't have skills on paper you know, I'm not an engineer or anything like that, but I'm very good at a lot of things and I like helping people," she said.
She does a bit of everything, including cooking, gurneying, gardening, laundry and cleaning and reorganising households.

But Facchin isn't alone when it comes to taking up a side gig to earn some extra cash, with more and more Aussies seeking side hustles to get by.
"It gave me the ability to create an income from nothing and from the skills that I have," Facchin said.
The mum said she can sometimes pull in about $2500 to $3000 a week, but she said earnings are dependent on how much you want to work.

Facchin said what she likes best about having a side hustle is that she's her own boss.
"I take the jobs I want, I can agree on price, all my insurance is covered," she said.
Facchin uses Airtasker for many of the jobs she finds and according to the platform's CEO Tim Fung, Airtasker is essentially "a local community noticeboard" for people both looking for work and those who want to pay for odd jobs to be done.

Airtasker is already an Australian success story but Fung said the online skills marketplace is experiencing an unprecedented boom.
"Rather than going with expensive white glove services, they're turning to Airtasker to find a direct route which can be more efficient and cost-effective," Fung said.
"We've also got people wanting to earn more money."
So while that extra bit of coin is appealing, there's plenty of competition.
