The Christmas Cave making the holidays easier for battling families
The countdown is on for Christmas, but new data shows nearly one in three people will struggle to make ends meet this festive season.
That's where our wonderful charities step in.
And they need your help.
"Some research we did showed that over 30 per cent of people are going to be looking for financial assistance this Christmas," St Vincent de Paul Society NSW's Yolanda Saiz said.
"We already know that a vast majority of people that come to us for help come to us with the real basics, like food."

But the charity offers more than just food.
The Christmas Cave is a free gifting suite to make the holiday season a little easier.
"It's all about dignity," Saiz said.
"So people have the dignity to come with their kids, choose their gifts as if they were in a shop."
