Former policewoman 'fearful' for community as attacker faces early release

NSW police sergeant Samantha Barlow was almost killed when she was bashed repeatedly over the head with a brick and left for dead near Kings Cross in 2009.

Roderick Holohan, a heroin addict who was on parole at the time, was jailed for 21 years over the savage attack.

But late last week, the former cop found out he could be granted parole in the coming days.

Barlow told A Current Affair she was "fearful for everyone" at the prospect her attacker could walk early.
