'Endorsement of ignorance': Ray Martin doubles down on Voice to parliament speech

Veteran journalist Ray Martin has doubled down on his comments slamming No voters in the Voice to parliament referendum.

Martin gave a fiery speech at a Yes campaign event in Sydney's Inner West, calling people who are voting based on the slogan "if you don't know, vote No" a "dinosaur or a dickhead".

When A Current Affair's Ally Langdon asked Martin whether he regretted his comments, he doubled down and said he stood by the language he used.

"What I found offensive is the stupid slogan saying, 'If you don't know, vote No' - that is an endorsement of ignorance," he said.

"If you don't know, find out what you don't know.

"It's such an important vote, please find out what it's about and vote accordingly."
