Update: Win for pensioner who resorted to 'wall of shame' after his fence was vandalised

A Queensland pensioner who was so fed-up with young vandals kicking down his fence that he plastered the alleged culprits' pictures on "a board of shame" says he can finally get a good night's sleep after a new development in his ongoing ordeal.

When A Current Affair first met Kevin Brummel three weeks ago, the pensioner said he had caught youths on CCTV cameras vandalising his fence on a council laneway.

So he took matters into his own hands and posted their pictures on his board, in the hope that police would act.

Now Brummel said police have done something since he shared his story on A Current Affair.

Police have charged five teenagers over the damage.

"We are getting our life back together and we are now sleeping at night instead of waking up and them banging on it and destroying it," Brummel said.

"I'd like to thank A Current Affair for helping and assisting me and the police in resolving the crime and vandalism of my fence.

"You've been a great help."
