AFL star ‘Fabulous Phil’ opens up about cancer battle

They called him “Fabulous Phil” back in the day.

Phil Carman spread his fabulousness across five Aussies Rules clubs including Collingwood, North Melbourne, Melbourne, Essendon and over in South Australia at Norwood.

The man of many clubs kicked 204 goals in 100 games and created history.

Fifty years on, “Fabulous Phil” is now “Fighting Phil”, after a prostate cancer diagnosis.

“I actually saw my oncologist two weeks ago, and he said to me ‘you realise Phil, this is actually going to get you’,” he said.
