Now another Aussie insurance company, Perpetual Limited, has conceded important letters sent to hundreds of members about the future of their insurance cover never made it out of the mail room.

There's still no answers as to what really happened to Mick's mail, but it's raised question marks over the missing letters.

FULL PERPETUAL LIMITED STATEMENT

Perpetual confirms that due to a processing error, a small proportion of our members did not receive notification that their insurance cover would be cancelled as a result of superannuation account inactivity, which is in accordance with superannuation legislation.

The reinstatement of insurance cover was completed in January 2024. We are not aware of any instance of denied insurance claims or members being denied the ability to make an insurance claim due to the error.

Perpetual reported the incident to the relevant regulators and we have since updated our processes and operations to ensure this does not happen again.

Perpetual takes its obligations to its members very seriously. Should an issue arise, our teams are committed to resolving it in a timely and appropriate manner and we apologise for any inconvenience this issue caused for any of our members.
