Millions prepare to face the unknown as Cyclone Alfred warnings mount

As millions anticipate its arrival, Tropical Cyclone Alfred is taking its time to make landfall.
But the delay doesn't mean communities in Queensland aren't copping a preview of the chaos.

But for Bupa Aged Care residents in Runaway Bay, a quick evacuation isn't an option.
The 108 residents, along with staff and their families, have prepared themselves to ride out the storm together in the facility.
Across the border in northern NSW, residents are preparing to face a familiar beast.
For those in the Northern Rivers, it's an unwelcome reminder of just how much damage Mother Nature can bring.
