Home of missing Larrimah man Paddy Moriarty to be sold at auction

It's the tiny outback town that captured the world's attention with its hot pies, colourful residents and cold case murder.

Now Larrimah is looking for a new resident.

Paddy Moriarty's place is up for sale seven years after his disappearance.

Real Estate Central agents Michael Van De Graaf and Daniel Harris are responsible for the sale of the property, which is located 500 kilometres south of Darwin.

They said the handful of other residents in the town were all for putting the property on the market.

"They were all for it, I think there's certainly no shortage of interest in it," Van De Graaf said.

"There's some other interest for selling as well and we're going to see what we can do about that."

There is no price guide for Paddy's place.

"It's something we're going to leave up to the public effectively," Van De Graaf said.

"We're going to auction on the seventh, so we're in the public's hands."

"We're under strict instructions to sell it for market rate on the day," Harris added.

The pair said they had received more interest in the property than they anticipated.

"Daily, five to 10 enquiries at any one time, they're coming from international as well as right across Australia," Van De Graaf said.
