'Really, really appreciated': Kind-hearted tradies reveal new bathroom to Gold Coast pensioners

Unable to afford a bathroom renovation, Gold Coast pensioners Gary and Carolyne Scott-Bridges were forced to shower at their local swimming pool for months, where Carolyne could assist her husband of 53 years, who uses a shower seat.

After they couldn't get funding from the government for a renovation, they reached out to A Current Affair.

That's when some generous local tradies saw their story and lined up to help out.

Led by Hando Homes on the Gold Coast, the team opened the space up to make it more user-friendly.

A Current Affair cameras captured the joy as Gary and Carolyne saw the final product for the first time.

"Thank you, very very much for all the effort the guys put in here, I think they did a great job, they were efficient, they were professional, it was really really appreciated," Gary said.
