Retirement means being able to finally put your feet up and relax.

But James and Terry’s plans to live their golden years in peace have ended with a very rude shock.

Statement from Department of Transport and Main Roads

TMR's project team and the main construction contractors have been in regular contact with all affected property owners, including the Schmidtkes, to advise of upcoming works and respond to any concerns raised.

TMR acknowledges disruptions are experienced by residents living near roadworks and works with affected property owners regarding land resumptions and minimising impacts during the works.

Measures to address concerns include planning construction activities, locating site entry and exit points away from residences where possible, minimising the number of plant and equipment operating simultaneously, and construction vehicle modifications.

We are monitoring noise, vibration and dust levels to ensure they remain at an acceptable level.
